A Southcentral man complained that the Child Support Services Division (CSSD) issued multiple notices of petitions for modification and property withholding orders to the complainant on several child support cases that he knew nothing about. He thought the agency was retaliating because he had previously filed a complaint with the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman asked CSSD to review the case in its computerized case management system and learned that the notices had been issued to the complainant in error. The notices were meant for another individual with the same first and last names and middle initial as the complainant. CSSD corrected the error in its system, resent the notices to the correct individual, and issued a letter of explanation to the complainant. (A2017-1060)
