A former State of Alaska employee complained that the Division of Retirement and Benefits (DRB) had lost the funds they had directed to be deposited into their retirement account when they left state employment. The Ombudsman reviewed evidence that showed the Complainant had properly notified the Division of Personnel and DRB that they wanted the value of their accrued leave — $18,000 — deposited into their retirement account. She met with the Commissioner of the Department of Administration to explain the complaint and provide evidence of the error. The Department acknowledged the error and corrected it within 2 weeks.
