The Ombudsman received a complaint that a District Attorney had refused to make arrangements or reimburse the costs for a law enforcement officer to travel on their personal time to testify in a criminal case. The officer felt this was unreasonable. The ombudsman investigator reached out to the Department of Law Criminal Division to learn more about the complaint issues, after which the Department reimbursed the officer’s travel expenses.
